Record of stone coral Desmophyllum dianthus (Esper, 1794) (Scleractinia, Caryophylliidae) in areas of the shelf break front of the Argentine Sea

In this note the first finding of stone coral Desmophyllum dianthus (Esper, 1794) (Cnidaria: Anthozoa: Scleractinia) in Patagonian scallop (Zygochlamys patagonica) fishing grounds in the shelf break front of the Argentine Sea is reported. The finding represents, besides, the first and shallowest record of the species in the Argentine Continental Shelf in 50 years.
